I have finally changed my blog appearance and title (thanks to my mom and Steve).
I just returned from Southern CA, where my mom, some ladies from church, and I were able to attend the Women Discipling Women Conference. What a great weekend! The conference was just Friday night and Saturday, but it was packed with great teaching. The speakers of the main sessions were Elyse Fitzpatrick (my new hero!), Martha Peace, and Cindy Patten. I have read Elyse Fitzpatrick, but I’ve never heard her speak before. Then on Sunday, I got to hear Rick Holland preach twice (woohoo). Since John MacArthur was out of town, Rick did the Sunday night service (as well as Crossroads in the a.m.). It was such a blessing to hear all this solid teaching for 3 days straight. Fun times! Along with the wonderful teaching of the Word, we got to experience awesome fellowship and fun with my college friends. My mom and I were so blessed by this weekend – praise the Lord!
Here is a quote I’ve been thinking about (I was gonna share another one, and I can’t remember the exact phrasing!) …
” ‘Justification’ does not just mean ‘just as if I’d never sinned.’ It also means ‘just as if I’d always obeyed.’ ” – Elyse Fitzpatrick
On another note, I get to have an Italian visitor next week! Thomas, who attends the Italian church I was a part of near Venice, is in the States visiting some friends. He is going to come to Sacramento for a few days. If you’ve followed my blog, then you’ve seen pics of him. He was my English speaking buddy, fellow Thanksgiving bulletin board decorator, travel guide in Venice. I think I’m at an unfair advantage … he showed me around Venice … I’m not quite sure what to show him around Sacramento. 🙂
p.s. Ashley … you’re just a step ahead of me 🙂
